Find a Veterinarian - Dr. Caryn's List

I am constantly being asked for veterinary recommendations from pet parents who want the absolute best care for their non-human family members. Finding a trustworthy, compassionate, and skilled vet can be overwhelming. Here are some tips from Dr. Caryn and a list of veterinarians that she has worked with in the past or who have been recommended by her clients.

Need to speak to a veterinarian right now?

Option 1: Call your personal vet. If it's after hours, they should have an answering service.

Option 2: If you don't have a personal vet, or are unsure whether you should take your pet to a 24-Hour Emergency Clinic or wait until you can get an appointment, Dr. Caryn recommends Vetster Online. She says, "I have used this service multiple times and am quite impressed." Click to save 40% off your first visit with her referral link!

Why do you need a vet?

  • A quick answer to a medical question? Use a 24/7 Online Veterinary Service such as Vetster.

  • A life-threatening emergency? Go to a 24/7 Emergency Vet such as Cladda.

  • Annual vaccinations? Try a clinic like PetVet at Tractor Supply.

  • A serious behavioral issue? Schedule an appointment with a Board Certififed Veterinary Behaviorist (DACVB) like Dr. Amy Learn at the Animal Behavior Wellness Center.

  • New to the area, or just adopted a new puppy or rescue dog? Establish a relationship with a local veterinarian like Northern Neck Vets.

  • Low Cost Spay/Neuter? Schedule with a Spay/Neuter Clinic such as The Spay Spot.

Dr. Caryn's Veterinarian List is a hand-picked directory of local clinics, specialists, and 24/7 emergency care facilities. Whether you are bringing home a new puppy or kitten and need a routine wellness exam, or you are looking for a second opinion on a complex diagnosis, or seeking a specialist, or just need to spay/neuter your dog or cat, this list is designed to help you find the best fit for you and your pet.

Dr. Caryn will continue to update this list. Click on the link to the PDF below to find the right veterinary partner for your pet's specific needs. Feel free to leave a comment if you have a great experience with any of these wonderful teams or want to recommend a veterinary practice! Last updated 10/26/26.
